The Nordkalottruta (Norwegian; Swedish Nordkalottleden; Finnish Kalottireitti; Englisch Arctic Route) leads through Norway, Sweden and Finland. The 34 stages and thus most of this trail are identical to the European long-distance path E1. The Nordkalottruta starts in Kautokeino in the north and ends in Sulitjelma in the south.
Part of the route leads along the Grensesømmen and Nordlandsruta, which the E1 follows further south after Nordkalottruta / Nordkalottleden.
Note: The following stage overview does not depict the complete course of the hiking trail, but only lists stages that are identical or partly identical to the European long distance path E1.
Below is an overview of selected accommodations and campsites on or near the hiking trail.

The E1 follows the Nordkalottruta / Nordkalottleden - except some smaller parts - from Kautokeino (E1 stages 01.16) close to Sulitjelma (E1-Etappen 07.08 / 08.01). The book describes the trail in detail from Kautokeino to Abisko and in shortform to an exit in Sulitjelma.
