Stage description

N.B.: We don't have an English description of the stage just yet. We'll give you the German version for now until the English version is ready.

Von Niedermarsberg geht es zunächst hinauf nach Obermarsberg mit zwei sehenswerten gotischen Kirchen. Dann geht es um den Kalvarienberg herum und weiter mit schönen Ausblicken am Hang des Diemeltals und schließlich talwärts zur Kluskirche. Über Asphalt nach Giershagen aufwärts. Hinter Giershagen folgt ein längerer Abschnitt auf der Straße und dann über Höhen mit Windkraftanlagen nach Adorf. Hinter Adorf wird die Wegführung wieder reizvoller um den Rottenberg herum und über Benkhausen in der Nähe der Talniederung nach Schweinsbühl.

Sights

Obermarsberg

Obermarsberg is a district of Marsberg situated on a plateau, which offers some historical sights. The E1 leads past the Drakenhöhlen (Dragon caves), the Buttenturm, the Stiftskirche St. Petrus und Paulus (collegiate church of St. Peter and Paul), the Nikolaikirche, the old town hall with pillory and other, partly medieval buildings. Almost like a little time travel into the past.
