Stage description

N.B.: We don't have an English description of the stage just yet. We'll give you the German version for now until the English version is ready.

Die letzte Etappe der Strada Alta verläuft ähnlich wie an den beiden Tagen zuvor am Hang des Leventina-Tals in südlicher Richtung. Dabei weitestgehend ohne größere Steigungen, vom Abstieg am Ende der Etappe einmal abgesehen. Immer wieder bieten sich dabei wundervolle Ausblicke.

Hinter der kleinen Ortschaft Segno lohnt sich ein kurzen Abstecher zur Kirche Oratorio di Sant'Ambrogi. Sie stammt teilweise aus dem 13. Jahrhundert und es gibt wundervolle Fresken zu bestaunen.

Hinter Cavagnago bietet sich ein letzter Blick zurück nach Norden in Richtung Gotthard. Hinter Sobrio kommt ein kleiner, etwas ausgesetzterer Abschnitt. Hier geht es oft über Felsstufen. 

Kurz darauf beginnt der steile Abstieg ins Tal. Es geht vorbei an steilen Felswänden und eindrucksvollen, alten Bäumen. Einmal im Tal angekommen lädt, eine Bank an einem kleinen Brunnen zur Pause ein, bevor der wenig reizvolle letzte Abschnitt beginnt. Es geht nun - teils entlang eine Hauptstraße - ins Zentrum von Biasca.
