Lazio North

The route of the E1 shown here has been realised by the Escursioni GEP and Valle del Salto associations on their own initiative. Approximately 100 kilometres of the route are marked in white/red - these are to be supplemented with signposts in the future.

The section "Petrella Salto - Mareri - Pagliara - Market - Marmosedio - S.Elpidio - Alzano - Collemaggiore - Castelmenardo - Corvaro" is currently marked white/red throughout. In the rest of the course, markings are only sporadic.

Several earthquakes since August 2016 have affected the villages and inhabitants of the region, some of them extremely severely. The E1 passes through some heavily destroyed villages such as Accumoli, Amatrice or Cittareale.
